Working closely with the top vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands’ appellation, Testarossa has produced yet another distinctive vintage of this highly anticipated Chardonnay. The Highlands is one of the state’s best known regions for world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The area’s close proximity to Monterey Bay makes for a very cool climate, with one of California’s longest growing seasons. The resulting slow, gentle ripening allows for full flavor development on the vine. Testarossa’s production team’s partnership with the best estates in the Santa Lucia Highlands ensure only the highest quality fruit makes it to the winery.

"The beautifully balanced Santa Lucia Highlands blend shows scents of ripe tropical and stone fruit with a dash of honeyed oak. In the mouth, it’s creamy with fresh, ripe flavors of citrus and baked orchard fruit and good acidity. Optimal combination of oak and luscious fruit. Similar in many respects to the 2019 vintage of this wine. Aged 11 months in 40% new French oak."

"The 2021 Chardonnay “Santa Lucia Highlands” bottling from Bill Brosseau at Testarossa comes in at 14.2 percent octane in this vintage and was raised in twenty-three percent new oak. It delivers a lovely bouquet of fresh pineapple, lemon, a nice foundation of soil, citrus blossoms and a discreet framing of buttery oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with fine depth at the core, zesty acids and good length and grip on the complex and juicy finish. This is quite tasty. (Drink between 2023-2030)."
